- Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire released in Cinemas yesterday. This will be my breakdown, revealing future movie plans.
I’m sure there are a lot of questions for this movie, so I’ll try my best to answer them. For starters, will they make another movie? what will it be about etc. The directors had plans for a Godzilla and Kong Trilogy starting with Godzilla Vs Kong. Obviously we now know The New Empire is the second movie of the trilogy. As a trilogy usually has 3 connected movies, it begs the question, will there be a next Godzilla and Kong movie? Yes there will, it’s likely that there will be a sequel. However, we don’t know witch area of the Monsterverse it’ll explore.
One of the reasons why not much has been said about a sequel is mainly due to the creators wanting to know how it does in Box Office and reviews first. Judging by the $75 million the movie already made on it’s opening weekend, it seems likely it’s going to achieve a good box office.

Unexplored plot Scenes – Skar King having bigger plans?
We have some unexplored elements, like what Skar King’s Army of Apes were mining. In the movie, we saw them at work, presumably mining. Hopefully, in the next movie, this will be further explored. It could lead to something significant, perhaps Skar King was searching for a powerful Titan. In witch, Shimu can act as a diversion, making out that he is this super powerful Titian Skar King has access to. When, Skar Kings actually aiming for an even stronger Titian. I could be completely wrong, but I think my idea is pretty cool, and is good for expanding a wider depth or story.
Pacific Rim Reference and Crossover
Interestingly, there was a Pacific Rim reference in the movie, involving Mech weapons developed by Monarch. These Mech wepons were being created for Kong, in case he ever needed to confront powerful Titans. This reference to Pacifc rim Mechs raises the intriguing idea of crossovers. Although it seems unlkley for the Gozilla franchise to go through with such an idea. However, considering the wider introduction of portals in the film, there is potential for further exploration for these portals. In witch, allowing glimpses into different universes and expanding the story. I.e, allowing a pacific Rim crossover.
I know that whole universe crossover thing may sound like a stretch but it’s still a possibility. If they’re not aloud to do this, then maybe we’ll get introduced to the Monster verse version of Pacific Rim. Regarding Mech weapons. Again I could be completely wrong, but still a cool idea right? Moving on from that, In the next movie we’ll likely see the toho lore expand their range of Titans.
