- DC Characters Winston Duke can Play
Very recently Winston Duke expressed how much he’d love to play Batman in James Gunn’s DCU. In a /Film interview with him Batman The Brave and the Bold came up and the Black Panther star explained how he was so eager to take on the role of the Dark Knight. Duke is a massive fan of DC and Marvel and a Geek in both. Very good to hear if you might take on the role of a DC or Marvel character. Duke has also expressed how much he adores Bruce wanes Dark Knight. This passion is what James Gunn has constantly said he loves in actors, pushing him to cast them. The star has voiced Batman in Batman the Unburied series on Spotify, so it’s good know he has familiarity with playing this role. Winston Duke very much acknowledges Batman is generally White. But, that won’t stop him from striving to fill the shoes of Billionaire Bruce Wane. I thought I’d fan cast Duke for other roles he could play, as he is such a incredible talented actor. I’d like to take a look at witch DC characters he could play in James Gunn’s DCU, including Batman.
1. John Stewarts Green Lantern

All 3 main Green Lanterns are confirmed by James Gunn to be in the DCU. Winston Duke has the look and a great voice for John Stewarts Green Lantern. Additionally, he would be a great fit for the role and it would be exiting to see him interact with Nathan Fillions Guy Gardner’s.
2. Black Lightning

Black Lightings serious humour would be perfect for Duke to play, I think he’ll do a great job in brining the character’s lighting spirit to the screen. And he also has a certain something to him that would really get the feel of the character. Especially considering his appearances in animated shows, via Young Justice.
3. Hawkman

Duke would excel at portraying Hawkman’s specific attitude and taking his duties seriously. Isabel Merced’s Hawkgirl will join him, and she is confirmed to appear in James Gunn’s upcoming film Superman. It’s going to be exiting to see where and when Hawkman will enter the DCU.
4. Steel

Steel is a genius engineer hero who built an extremely powerful suit of Armour that reflects/mirrors Superman’s powers. I think Duke would portray his versatile abilities extremely well, and would do a great voice for character.

King Sharks Blood firsty fighting style would be perfect for Duke to portray, along with Dukes voice being perfect for the Big feller.

Gorilla Grodds bulk on whilst logical personality would be a perfect role for Duke, his back round in playing Ombaku would fit perfectly. Additionally the main reason for this fan casting is because of Winston’s deep voice.

Finally Batman, as you already know Duke has expressed how much he’d love to play DC’s most Iconic character. He certainly has that brutality talent on screen that you need for Batman, and checks the box for being extremely intimidating.
