Young Sheldon season 7 finished four days ago, leaving fans emotional with the heart-breaking death of George Sr. The series has finally addressed and corrected some of the actions attributed to George that Sheldon mentions in The Big Bang Theory. Throughout TBBT, Sheldon often recounted stories about his father, painting him as a cheating drunk. Young Sheldon season 7: Did George really Cheat On Marry?
One of the biggest questions of Young Sheldon is did George really cheat on Marry? The answer is simply No. Yes George cheating has been stressed upon multiple times in The Big bang Theory. But Young Sheldon season 7 proves it was just a miss understanding.
In an unforgettable episode of season 7, Mary and George’s relationship thrives after Mary returns from Germany with Sheldon. Sporting a wig and dress as part of a made up character Helga she brought back, Mary surprises George with some role-playing. Sheldon, unaware, walks in on them and fails to recognize his mother. Believing he’s caught his father cheating, Sheldon slams the door in shock. This misunderstanding leads to the ugly picture he paints George in the TBBT. Sadly, even now, Sheldon remains convinced his dad was cheating that day.
Luckily Sheldon does correct some of his past perspectives of his Farther in the quote bellow.
In an episode, the older Sheldon’s voice-over explains, “For a long time, I focused on my father’s shortcomings. Now that I’m his age and have kids of my own, I realize he was just a person doing the best he could, and he did a lot.”
It’s clear from this that Sheldon eventually acknowledges how his perspective of his farther used to be wrong. And it’s very clear that the George in Young Sheldon is nothing like the way Sheldon described him in TBBT.
