As you may recall, I recently shared news about Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, deciding to reduce the number of movies produced by Marvel Studios. Now, we have updates on some of those movies, which are not surprising to most people. Firstly, it appears that Captain Marvel 3 will no longer be made, given the poor performance of the last movie at the box office, and its unfavourable reception by audiences. Secondly, Antman 4 is also not to be made, given that Antman and The Wasp Quantomania encountered similar issues.
Of course these movies were cancelled because of the Bob Iger reason as well as the movies performance reason. Finally we have Eternals being cancelled. Surprising since they left it on a scene that must be continued. As you saw in the end credits of the Eternals Aresham the celestial captured Sersi and to other eternals. This is something that you’d think would need to be carried on. Now, despite the fact that Kevin Fige actually wants there to be another movie, Bob Iger doesn’t. The reason being because of him going through with his announcement of cancelling movies. However there has been a recent report that this may be a good thing. I’ll explain why in my post tomorrow.
