Marvel’s new Doctor Doom plans looks like it’s finally shaping up. Kang: the multiverse villain we all thought was going to be the main antagonist, is supposedly not. After a report coming from the cosmic Circus, we have a pretty good idea of Marvels new plans for a main antagonist. Alex Perez, a credible insider, held a massive Q&A, answering plenty of Marvel studious questions. He explained how Marvel are moving away form Kang. This lines up with reports form multiple insiders saying that Marvel are going to have two focus villains for Avengers 5. Two villains? who may they be? well there’s Kang, but according to Alex Perez they’re moving away form him temporarily. So who? That’s where Doctor Doom comes in. Marvel has had many plans for Doctor Doom, none yet has got a proper update. Until now, where Doom possibly could be the second big bad of Avengers 5. Alex Perez and the insider reports don’t specifically say Doctor Doom, but it seems likely Marvel will shift to him if moving away form Kang.
If true Doctor Doom or whatever villain it is definitely needs more of a set up
If we’re going to have this whole new villain in Avengers 5, they definitely need a set up. Take Thanos, he was set up through the whole of phase 1 to 3. Meaning, this villain, whoever they end up being needs to be set up in films before Avengers 5. And make their way to their big climatic battle, just like Thanos did. Whatever way said villain get’s beaten, it’d be setting the stage for the Avengers dealing with Kang.
Who knows? Perhaps Doctor Doom stops being an Avenger antagonist and decides to help them defeat Kang. Additionally, we could possibly see a Doctor Doom Vs Kang fight, witch would be Awesome. And a massive miss for Marvel if they don’t do that. Yes Secret Wars can still be could without that fight, but still, come on, a fight like that is for sure going to lift fans of their seat.

What films could this other Villain be set up in for Avengers 5?
Thor 5 may just be the most Multiversal film before Avengers 5. So, could we have the god of thunder fighting this new villain in Thor 5? Or perhaps have story tie ins with this new villain? That would be a good choice, since Thor is a strong enough character to hold is own against big villains. and would be a great success for Thor 5. Or could this new villain show up in Fantastic 4, the second, maybe first most multiversal movie before Avengers 5. If Doctor Doom does indeed end up being this mystery other big Villain, then it would make perfect sense for Fantastic 4 to set him up. Especially since this lines up with reports saying Doctor Doom will also go to the 616 universe at the end of the film as well as the fantastic 4.
Shang chi 2, a film not far from production and a film gaining a lot of excitement. Perhaps Doctor Doom is the one who created Shang Chi’s rings. Leading to Shang Chi interacting or fighting him in the film. Next, the MCU X-Men film, a very exciting film people are looking forward to, and a film that could very well feature this new villain.
