In my previous post about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I mentioned the possibility of new characters being introduced. However, recent developments have indicated that this may not be the case. This is because Marvel is facing criticism over the quality of their latest movies and Disney+ series. The issue seem to go from the fact that they are producing a large amount of content. In witch they are doing without proper organization or structure, particularly in Phase 4. Even Kevin Feige, Bob Iger, and actor Mark Ruffalo have expressed concerns about the quality of content on Disney+. Early reports suggest that Marvel will be reducing their focus on Disney+ shows. Instead divert more of their attention on movies and animation. Feige and Iger have even admitted that their announcement of upcoming projects has contributed to the drop in quality. I think this is a bold move on their part.
Marvel wants to focus on and make more of these type’s of Movies

So like I kind of mentioned in my last post Marvel wants to work more on street-level heroes and more grounded projects. This will include focusing on shows like Daredevil, characters like Kate Bishop, and not as much on shows that introduce a new character. Saying this again recent reports back up the logical suggestions, in the fact that Marvel is going to be focusing much more on animation and big story cinematic movies. Which Bob Iger actually talked about. This will mean they will be focusing on the stronger franchises and characters such as Spiderman, Deadpool, Thor, Fantastic 4, X-men/Mutants, and Doctor Strange. This is why I said in my last post that Marvel won’t be introducing or focusing on new characters.

It’s all about structure, quality, and focus. MCU’s Phases 1 to 3 did this perfectly with Ironman and Captain America being its stable character holders and that sense of all of the characters coming together, i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy meets Avengers. With phase 4 and upcoming phases 5 and 6 having so much new content, we don’t get a sense of how all will come together in future climaxes. Fans are very upset as Kevin Fige put quantity over quality, quality is what we fans want. It’s all about structure, quality, and focus. The changes Bob Iger and Kevin Fige are making are hopefully going to return to the quality of phases 1 to 3. As for the stable holders that Tony and Steve once were. I think many other fans have said that Fantastic 4 and X-men will be a stable team holder and original MCU characters will be stable character holders. This may cancel out my idea of Boomerang in the MCU. However If White Tiger in Daredevil Born Again works then potentially introducing Ted Myers may work, only as a little sub-character. It’s unlikely that they will do this but still a good Idea especially since they’re making a new Spiderman trilogy.
Hopefully, the course of Marvel changing will save the MCU. However some fans aren’t trusting Fige with this. As we all know that the strategy of basically overloading superhero content definitely doesn’t work. And we don’t want him to go off track with the better plan the is making.
