Venom 3 had to stop filming due to the pandemic, but it has now wrapped up production and is set to release in 2024. Fans are thrilled as recent rumours suggest, Tom Holland’s Spiderman to be making an appearance in the film. Apparently, the reason for this crossover is that Sony intends to incorporate their own Spiderman universe plans into the MCU.
According to an insider, Sony plans to have Tom Hardy’s Venom jump between universes, which includes Sony and MCU. This development has left fans puzzled about the end credits of Spiderman: No Way Home. As it was previously believed that the symbiote goo Venom left behind in the pub was meant to set up a new Venom in the MCU. At this moment and time in the credits Venom is in the MCU, he then get’s pulled back into his original universe. I just explained why it seems that he will come back into the MCU, so don’t need to go anymore into that.
How this could affect future narratives
The recent news of Sony bringing their characters to the MCU has left fans wondering about its impact on future MCU storylines. This move might affect future narratives in MCU, as the MCU is focusing more on grounded projects like Spiderman 4. This approach is expected to continue even after Secret Wars. As a result introducing more characters from Sony’s universe may interfere with said planned storylines, ruining the entire future of Marvel.
However, on the positive side, we might get to see characters we never thought we’d see in the MCU. We may also witness the return of familiar faces we love. For example Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman in Spiderman: No Way Home. This actually seems likely over the explanation given throughout the post. I can’t wait for Venom 3 and to see how this all plays out, I can only hope that Sonny plans will not affect the future of Marvel.
