X-Men 97 Episode 7 dropped on Disney yesterday, I’ll be explaining the ending and breaking down the Episode. A lot of Easter eggs to spot throughout, references and connections to future Episodes.
The biggest moment that unfolds in the Episode is when we find out that Bastion was behind everything. Planning to make loads of Prime Sentinels. It seems the series is leaning you towards Bastion being the main villain. But, we still have Mr. Sinister, who supposedly acts as the main villain of the season, according to what we’ve heard. And then there’s Apocalypse, who hasn’t really revealed any major indication of his role as a villain in all of this. However, there are still a few Easter eggs that suggest he plays some sort of role in all of this. X-Men 97 Episode 7. – Image credit Marvel
X-Men 97 Episode 7: X-Men helping with Genosha Attack and Gambits Funeral
The funeral of Gambit opens the episode, where we witness characters from Gambit’s past and the X-Men all grieving for him. Following this, the scene transitions to Rogue fighting Thunderbolt Ross’s Army and infiltrating their base. She then demands leads on finding Trask, believing he is behind all of this. In another scene, we see the X-Men landing on Genosha in the Blackbird. During this, Beast interacts with Patrisha Tilby, given their past relationship, Beast is happy to see her. Captain America makes his cameo appearance, his original series theme tune playing in the background. He interacts with Rogue, informing her he has control of the Gyric situation without her assistance. While the X-Men are on Genosha, Beast references Toby’s tolerance of mutants, a nod to the last episode of the season. Witch I think is going to be Titled “Tolerance Of extinction.”

Prime Sentinel Trask and Bastion Half Nimrod and Master Mold Reference
Rogue tracks down Gyric, cleverly diverting Cap’s shield into the mountains to shake off pursuit. When she confronts Gyric for intel, she drains his life force, triggering a glimpse into a vision of Nimrod. Referencing at Bastion being half Nimrod Half Master Mold. Amidst the wreckage of Genosha, Jean detects another telepath. Cyclops hopes it’s Madelyne, but it turns out to be Emma Frost, surviving in her diamond form. The X-Men walk straight into Bastion’s trap, orchestrated through Trask. Trask morphs into a prototype Prime Sentinel, a move orchestrated by Bastion. In the clash, Rogue takes a heavy hit from Prime Sentinel Trask. Highlighting the terrifying strength of just a prototype and just one.
Cable steps in, throwing an electromagnetic bomb taking out Trask. Note Cable has been fighting the Prime Sentinels in the future. Cyclops realizes Cable is actually his son, Nathan. Jean reads Cable’s mind, and Cable says, “Get out of my head,” probably angry because she isn’t his mother, Madelyne. Cable appears to be their best shot at taking down Bastion since he has knowledge of him from the future.
Ending Explained
At the end we see Bastion monitoring various things that are happening on loads of different screens. One of witch, monitoring the events that occurred on the She Ar Planet. Meaning, he likely knows Charles is coming back to Earth. So he’ll defiantly have something planned for that.
We also might get Onslaught, as he was created from Charleses and Magneto’s consciousness. This could be what Bastion is trying to do, making Onsluaght his big weapon, who the X-Men are going to have to fight. At the very end we saw Magneto was actually alive, saved by Bastion. Bastion put’s a special clour on Magneto to prevent his powers. Bastion also might of captured Magneto because he wants to turn Magneto into a Prime Sentiel. That joint with Magnetos powers would a mega threat for the X-Men. This also links back to the Prime Senitel Trask Vs X-Men fight. To wich we see Jean senses Trask’s mind alive in his body. Suggesting the X-men will have to fight one of their own, turned into a prime sentinel. To witch not wanting to hurt them as they’re original minds still there. X-Men 97 Episode 7
